ATRIUM residential living
urban densification
The building was designed primarily to create a public space, where the dance events of our character Nadine, can be visited.
The building is inspired by the Roman ATRIUM, which is why round arches and columns are an important element of the building. The semi-public life also takes place in the atrium.
The goal is to give something back to the public through these events. Direct neighbours can even simply step out of their windows and onto the grandstand.

PATHWAY
A special feature of the house is the deliberately chosen cut in the middle, which results in a round-arched entrance.
One enters the house at the back via a staircase and crosses this corridor to the courtyard arena.
From there a grandstand stretches out, which smoothly disappears into the dance space. This creates a harmonious interplay between the interior and exterior worlds.
LIVING CONCEPT
The lower floor is dedicated to Nadine. With a bedroom as well as a dance room, which can be opened to the courtyard at will.
The upper area is designed as a retreat for your grandpa Ulrich. Here, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a large, bright living area with a balcony open up. From the balcony, you have a good view of the inner courtyard.
Another highlight is the open-plan kitchen. There is an open connection between the kitchen and the living room. So there is also a cut in the middle on the upper floor, but here in the form of a winter garden. A glass pane also allows a good view of the arena from the kitchen.

ENVIROMENTAL CONCEPT
The surrounding buildings are characterized by round arches and oriels. It was important to us to integrate the building into its surroundings, so we included an oriel on the house facade. It extends continuously over both floors with a view of the Nordkette and Patscherkofel.
STIL
The house forms a mix of modern architecture as well as historically inspired elements, which are reflected in the surroundings. It offers both privacy and space for the public.
