GRÜN IS GEIL.  participative space

PART 2

Architecture becomes nature and nature becomes architecture. The lagoon connects the centre of Zaldibia with the surrounding nature. The access to the river integrates nature into the city and the city into nature. Further upstream, a pool invites you to swim or relax on the riverbank.

In the second half of the year, the groups of two were merged into bigger groups of four to seven people. The goal was to combine the intents and design solutions of each project and not to follow a knock-out strategy.

A focus was set on one of the facets of the merged Project which then was continuously developed up until the final journey to Zaldibia, Spain.

On-site the final adjustments were made and a Prototype was developed.

It is to say, that all seven facets are one together and not each an isolated part within a Project.

The creation of Metagroups made it possible to collaborate more efficiently between the groups.

VISUALISATION

Everyone was subdivided into different Metagroups for certain tasks like creating a website or Fotodokumentation. My Metagroup was to visualize all Projects and unify all drawings into one style so that later in a publication everything seems uniform.

ONSITE ZALDIBIA

The two sample rocks as prototypes are in a scale 1: 2 and for that only a visual and haptic example of the planned rocks in the river. The Prototype was positioned next to the public kitchen with a view to the future construction site. The inhabitants of Zaldibia adapted the Rocks right away. An elderly man who can not walk long distances anymore was happy to have a seating option that is not too far down, because he could not get up alone from normal benches, here he can simply lean sit. A young couple said: "this spot was before very lost and unused because it is not so nice, but now it is more welcoming to relax here aside the  hustle on the village square."

SCENARIOS

the lagoon offers a lot of different everyday situations to happen. Cooling the feet in the water while the kids are playing in the shallow river. Relaxing in the evening sun and reading a book on a slightly hidden cornerstone.

MATERIAL STUDIES

to find the right concrete, we made a lot of different studies of different locally available concrete, sand and stone as well as tested different options for the pattern of the mold.
